Council Performance

Inspection (and Comprehensive Performance Assessment)

Every year the Council is inspected by the Audit Commission with an overall reports (the Annual Audit Letter and Annual Governance Report) together with separate reports on Use of Resources and Data Quality.

Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA) Results

Maidstone Borough Council was rated as an ‘Excellent’ authority under CPA in 2004.  Since then, through annual inspection checks, the Council has continued to improve with positive inspection reports (see the links above).

CPA is an inspection carried out by the Audit Commission and assesses both organisational issues within the Council as well as service delivery.  The Corporate Assessment element was carried out in 2004 and a copy of the auditors report is available below:

In 2009, CPA will be replaced by Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA) which will judge the Council on its delivery against community objectives together with partners.
