The Planning Service is responsible for dealing with planning applications and for providing advice on land and property. We can help you on a range of planning issues including trees and landscape, historic buildings, enforcement, and whether or not planning permission is needed. We can also help you make sure your application proceeds as smoothly as possible by advising you of what information is needed when you submit your application.

Before you begin your application we can provide you with FREE pre application advice for:

extensions and alterations to homes (but not new homes);
domestic projects within the boundary of the property;
the alteration, repair and maintenance of listed buildings; and
works to trees covered by
Tree Preservation Orders or located in a conservation area.

By talking to us, at an early stage, we can give you informal comments on your proposal and can help smooth the submission process, help you to provide us with all the information we need to make a decision as well as provide you with more understanding of the planning process.
