Information for residents
Policing
Police and PCSOs from the Maidstone Urban Neighbourhood Team will patrol on bikes both in Mote Park and the surrounding area of the venue. The Kent Police motorcyclists will also be dealing with traffic management issues.
Kent Police will use preventative powers to full effect to ensure that potential problems are diffused at an early stage.
Outside of the licensed area, Kent Police can require people not to drink and can remove alcohol.
No entry will be allowed to any person who is apparently under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The sale of alcohol will only be made in polycarbonate containers, plastic bottles or vessels or wax paper cups. No open bottles, containers or vessels containing alcohol shall be allowed outside of the licensed area.
To help prevent the sale and consumption of alcohol by under age persons, the ‘Bottle Watch’ scheme will be in place (which identifies where bottles have been purchased) in those licensed premises situated in the area surrounding Mote Park, specifically targeting those that sell alcohol for consumption off the premises.
A fully staffed facility of assistance of vulnerable persons will be provided in or close to the fenced off event area.
To avoid underage drinking, the ‘Challenge 21’ policy will be implemented at the venue and all staff will be fully trained in this policy. ‘Challenge 21’ signs will be prominently displayed in all bar areas. The only proof of age that will be accepted by staff will be a photographic driving licence, a passport or a ‘PASS/ marked proof of age card.
Kent Police are working with British Transport Police to ensure sufficient resources are available. Kent Police will monitor other transport routes to and from the town centre and other key locations.
