Sports, Play and Youth Development Team
Maidstone Borough Council aims to provide both
sporting and play opportunities to the community, disabled young
people, schools and local sports clubs. Funding and Grants for
schools, sports clubs and individuals are available, for further
information please follow the downloads link on the right hand side
of this page.
The Sports and Play Development Team have a
limited amount of play and sports equipment that may be available
to loan to charities, schools and voluntary organisations
throughout the year (excluding school summer holidays).
Some of the events run throughout the year:

Hotfoot: Summer and Easter Playschemes for
5-11 year olds is bursting with fun activities at various
sites across the borough. |

Freefall: A programme of sports and youth
activities for under 20's running during half term breaks, Easter
and Summer Holidays. |
 |
Night Hoops: A basketball tournament that is
run monthly at Mote Hall, Maidstone Leisure Centre at a cost of £2
per player. |
 |
Youth Sport Achievement Awards: These annual
awards recognise young people’s achievements and their dedication
within sport. |
 |
SNAP: Working in
partnership with Maidstoneand Malling Police and Crimestoppers to
provide club nights in a safe environment for young people,
aged 11 and 17 to enjoy live music acts and meet with friends. |
 |
Uprockin: Annual BMX and Skateboarding
competition with all day live music and support from local
businesses. |
 |
Charlton: Free community football coaching for
young people aged 10 and over across the borough. |
