Dealing with Emergencies

Emergency Planning and Business Continuity

Maidstone Borough Council has a duty under the Civil Protection Act 2004 to prepare for its response to any major emergencies which may occur within the Borough.  It does this in collaboration with a number of partners, such as other local authorities in Kent, the emergency services, the NHS, the Environment Agency, utility and transport providers and the voluntary sector.

The Council also has to be able to continue to deliver its day-to-day services while responding to a major emergency, and has Business Continuity Plans in place to enable it to do so.  It also has a duty to advise local businesses on Business Continuity issues.

More extensive advice and information can be obtained from the websites of our partners and the government.
