"We will support the Council's vision and obtain best value through planned and skilful procurement of all goods, works and services sought by the Council”

- Procurement Team

Welcome to Maidstone Borough Council's Procurement Site.  This section of the website deals with procurement and contract management within the Council.  Here you will find all the information and advice you need relating to Procurement at Maidstone and if you would like to consider doing business with the Council including a list of useful documents and a register of current contracts.

What is Procurement?

Procurement refers to the overall process of acquiring a product or service. Depending on the value and scope of requirements, it may include identifying a need, specifying the requirements to fulfill the need, identifying potential suppliers, soliciting and evaluating bids and proposals, awarding contracts and tracking progress and ensuring compliance through subsequent contract management.

Procurement @ Maidstone

Maidstone Borough Council's Procurement Department works hard to maintain the “excellent” Authority status awarded by the CPA.  Within this team of procurement champions, this “excellent” status is vigorously guarded through providing best value to the procurement process and to the Council as a whole, by taking advantage of significant spending power in order to drive down costs and increase efficiencies through procurement strategies that provide real added value internally and externally.
