The Tendering Process

What is it?

Tendering is a process that introduces the discipline of competition into the procurement process i.e. the Council invites a number of suppliers/contractors (tenderers) to bid against each other to deliver supplies, services or works.

When is the tender process used?

For contracts with a value greater than £25,000.00 exclusive of VAT or for potentially contentious purchases where the clearest possible audit trail is necessary for public accountability.
